Next Meetup: Run for Haiti 2/20

Hi everyone!

While I had announced via twitter that we’ll have a run tonight (Monday), I’m going to cancel it since 1) it’s going to snow (big deal, I know), but 2) I’d rather focus on getting big a group together for the 4 mile Run/Walk for Haiti this Saturday in Central Park.

You can register ($40) for the race here: http://nyrr.org/races/2010/haiti/index.asp

All entry fees collected by NYRR will go to New York City’s Haiti Relief Fund, administered by the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, which is directing 100% of donations to reputable organizations providing relief in Haiti.

More info about the race here: http://nyrr.org/races/2010/haiti/race_info.asp

And the course info:

Start on Central Park ‘s East Drive near 68th Street. Head north on East Drive and continue to the 102nd Street Transverse. Turn left/west across the transverse and then left/south on West Drive. Continue south to the 72nd Street Transverse, turning left/east to the finish line.

For those who have never done a NYRR race before, they have a bag check, so definitely bring some warm layers in a bag to put on after the run.

Times for race packet pickup (number, tshirt, etc):

Number Pickup /Registration

Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring tags, and race souvenirs at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street) on:

• Thursday, February 18, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, February 19, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, February 20, 7:30-8:30 a.m.

We’ll plan on meeting at the 72nd entrance on the East side of the park (5th ave) @ 8:15 am. That should give us enough time to meet, head over to back check, and hop in the corrals.

Afterward we’ll wonder over to brunch!

Looking forward to it!
