FREE 10K Training Class in NYC! →
losingweightinthecity:
YOU GUYS! I was looking at various magazines’ Facebook pages for work, and I saw this on Runner’s World’s page! A free 8-week class from Run by Foot Locker to train you for either your first 10K or to help you get faster. I just signed up — let me know if you sign up, too!

runonempty:
The real news from this article is that Kara Goucher’s pregnant (and apparently Paula Radcliffe is too), but I personally was more excited to read that they’re coming to NYC to run this 10K in June. I bopped over to the race site and registered. The article says the pair will “run quite slowly”—which of course means they’ll still beat me by a ton, but maybe they’ll at least be in...

Meetup Update!
Hey everyone!
It’s been a while since our last meetup, and that’s mostly because (my) triathlon training and traveling has gotten in the way. But, with the triathlon out of the way in less than two weeks, expect to step away from the Internet and start lacing up your running shoes!! BONUS: The weather is extraordinary!
Keep on running until then!

10k-running:
“Running hills is an acquired skill, and a little practice can give any runner the confidence to overcome a hill phobia and make peace with the dreaded incline.” -Uphill Battle by Josh Clark
If you’re not running hills, you need to be. To maximize a hill running workout, there are a few things you can do. So often as runners, we settle into a routine (rut) of running from our...

Running Training -The 2 most popular running...
10k-running:
Ahh…the two most popular running drills ever! The classics! I thought I’d take a few minutes to pay tribute to “Ladders” and the ole “Swedish Mile.” And, hey, maybe there are some new track coach’s out there who need to research some basic running workouts. For the rest of us, it’ll be a trip down memory lane. On that note though, I am reminded of something my college track coach...

Next Meetup: Run for Haiti 2/20
Hi everyone! While I had announced via twitter that we’ll have a run tonight (Monday), I’m going to cancel it since 1) it’s going to snow (big deal, I know), but 2) I’d rather focus on getting big a group together for the 4 mile Run/Walk for Haiti this Saturday in Central Park. You can register ($40) for the race here: http://nyrr.org/races/2010/haiti/index.asp
